Education-Industry Partnerhip Manager, Emerging Technologies
Responsibilities include:
Planning and coordinating system-wide initiatives.
This includes strategic planning for system initiatives, coordinating systemwide discipline work groups, and providing system leadership in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
Raising public awareness of system programs and workforce needs.
The Strategic Partnership unit supports the development of a number publications, brochures and conference materials in healthcare, manufacturing and energy. Gail works closely with MnSCU's system labor market analyst to collect and disseminate the latest industry and labor market information in these fields. She regularly presents at regional and national conferences and meets with company representatives to elevate the profile of the system’s training and education programs in these industries and other industries, upon request.
Forging and facilitating partnerships with external organizations, including other governmental agencies.
Gail works closely with educational organizations (such as Bio-Link) and business groups (like LifeScience Alley, the Minnesota High Tech Association, and the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota). On behalf of the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota, she coordinates the statewide Biosciences Education-Industry Partnership Council, a consortium of representatives from industry, higher education and K-12 education, with the goal of improving bioscience education and workforce preparedness in Minnesota.
Provide communication and foster collaboration between system institutions.
